Could a Star Wars Celebration-style Marvel convention be in the works? According to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, the idea has been discussed.

In Disney+'s new show, Ms. Marvel, the main character Kamala Kahn (Iman Vellani) is a mega-fan of superheroes like The Avengers. She soon learns that she has actual superpowers just like the heroes she admires. In the series, Kahn is fixated on winning the Captain Marvel costume contest at AvengerCon, a fictional superhero convention similar to ComicCon and other fandom-based conventions. Ahead of the series premiere on June 8, Feige revealed in a virtual press conference that filming the Marvel-focused convention sparked a desire to potentially host a similar one in real life.

When asked if the Ms. Marvel AvengerCon could ever become a reality, Feige said, "We were definitely talking about that on the set. We shot that right in the middle of COVID protocols. So there hadn’t been a convention for a very long time, and it was very cathartic for all of us to see that." Feige revealed that the convention scene in Ms. Marvel was filmed on the stage next door to that of Spider-Man: No Way Home and that the movie's crew "kept sneaking over to see AvengerCon."

"So I think that might be fun to do it sometime,” Feige added. "There might be a few places you can go and visit the Ms. Marvel version of AvengerCon."

Ms. Marvel will premiere on Disney+ on June 8.
