Taylor Sheridan continues to dominate TV.
The prolific creator behind Yellowstone will soon premiere the second season of Paramount+ drama Mayor of Kingstown, and the Season 2 teaser hints at an explosive season ahead.
Starring Jeremy Renner (The Avengers), Mayor of Kingstown explores the American prison system and the industry that benefits from incarceration. Renner stars as Mike McLusky, the middle brother in a powerful family who is forced to take over followingn the death of his oldest brother Mitch (Kyle Chandler). Mike does his best to restore a sense of integrity and harmony to the town in the face of extreme corruption, but this only causes more issues. The second season is set to pick up immediately after the violent events of the Season 1 finale.
"The consequence of a riot is our new reality. All that remains is chaos," says Renner's McLusky.
Dianne Wiest, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Aidan Gillen round out Mayor of Kingstown's stacked ensemble. The series is co-created by Sheridan and Dillon.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 premieres on Paramount+ January 15. Season 1 is currently streaming.
