The Charlie Kirk Show hosts condemned President Donald Trump over his Truth Social post targeting the late director and liberal activist Rob Reiner.

POTUS penned a controversial note after the news of the filmmaker and his wife’s deaths broke. Trump addressed Reiner as “a tortured and struggling” and claimed that he suffered from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

The president also made a remark claiming that the Stand By Me director passed away “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction. The post sparked internet outrage, including criticism from the hosts of The Charlie Kirk Show.

Blake Neff and Andrew Kolvet discussed the passing of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer. As they read through the media reports, Culvert described their passing as “a pretty gruesome way to go,” while Neff called the situation “unthinkably terrible,” stating that “no one should suffer that way.”

As they discussed Rob Reiner’s reaction to Charlie Kirk’s assassination, Blake called out those celebrating the legendary filmmaker’s death. Without naming Trump, he said:

“It is a free country and he was allowed to believe what he wanted. doesn't mean it's okay for him to get stabbed to death by his son. And it's disgusting if anyone is celebrating this.”

As Kolvet continued to talk about Rob Reiner and his work, Neff addressed Trump’s Truth Social post and said:

“You know, we should acknowledge there's an elephant in the room. President Trump, unfortunately, posted on Truth Social this morning.”

Neff suggested that Trump should remove his Truth Social post, while Kolvet mentioned the blowback the president has received. The latter also mentioned his X post in which he wrote

“I shared approximately zero in common with Rob Reiner politically, but I am so saddened by this news. A great American entertainment talent, and his wife, have been stolen from us. A truly horrific way to die. Praying for comfort for his family, that justice would be swift and without conspiracies theories for the sake of his family.”

The co-hosts then reacted to the late filmmaker’s statement on the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder’s assassination.

Rob Reiner unequivocally condemned Charlie Kirk’s assassination in a September interview

Months before his death, the actor from The Wolf of Wall Street appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored. At the start of their conversation, the broadcaster asked Reiner about his reaction to Charlie Kirk’s murder. The filmmaker stated that he felt “absolute horror” when he first found out about the assassination. Reiner stated”

“I unfortunately saw the video of it and [...] It's beyond belief what happened to him and that should never happen to anybody. I don't care what your political beliefs are. That's not acceptable. That's not a solution to solving problems.”

He also mentioned Erika Kirk’s speech at her husband’s memorial service. Erika had forgiven Tyler Robinson, the individual accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk. Rob Reiner said:

“I felt like what his wife said at the service at the memorial they had was exactly right. And totally I believe you know I'm Jewish but I uh I believe in the teachings of Jesus.”

    He added:

“I believe in forgiveness. And what she said to me was beautiful and absolutely [...] She forgave his assassin and I think that that is uh admirable.”

Reacting to the clip of Reiner’s statement, Blake Neff and Andrew Kolvet appreciated his stance, with the latter calling it “the only correct response” in that situation.

For those unaware, Rob Reiner and his wife were found dead with stab wounds by their daughter, Romy, on Sunday, December 14. Reiner's son Nick was arrested on suspicion of killing the director and his spouse.
