Happy Days star Anson Williams is running for mayor of Ojai, California, and his old castmate Henry Winkler has offered up his support.

Williams announced his intention to run for mayor at a city council meeting on Ojai on June 28. According to the Los Angeles Times, Williams will be up against Mayor Betsy Stix, who is running for reelection.

Earlier this week, Winkler retweeted a story about Williams' plans to run, writing, "You have my vote."

Both Williams and Winkler starred in all 11 seasons of Happy Days, which ran from 1974 to 1984 on ABC. Williams played Warren "Potsie" Weber, alongside Winkler's Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli, known as "Fonzie."

After Happy Days ended in 1984, Anson worked behind-the-scenes as a producer and director in Hollywood. He has directed episodes of Baywatch, Beverly Hills, 90210, Star Trek: Voyager, and Deep Space Nine.

Happy Days is available to stream on Paramount+.
