Harry & Meghan Reveals Premiere Date in Emotional New Trailer

The docuseries hits the streamer this week.
  • Harry & Meghan will officially hit Netflix this month.

After a teaser released last week revealed the series would be "coming soon", but today the streamer announced that the highly-anticipated docuseries would arrive on the platform this week. The "unprecedented and in-depth" documentary will see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - the Duke and Duchess of Sussex - offer a look inside their love story and beyond.

The new trailer documents the early days of the couple's romance and the dark period that followed because of leaked and planted stories. "It's a dirty game," says Harry. "The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution, this feeding frenzy."

"I realized, 'they're never gonna protect you'," Meghan confesses, while images of the couple being hounded by the press mirror the experience of Harry's late mother Princess Diana. "I was terrified," Harry says, as we see the couple wipe away tears during intimate interviews. "I didn't want history to repeat itself... No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth."

Helmed by Liz Garbus (What Happened, Miss Simone?Bobby Fischer Against the World), the six-episode series "does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other." Harry & Meghan will be split into two three-episode volumes.

Harry & Meghan: Volume I will premiere on Netflix December 8, followed by Volume II on December 15.
