Firefly Lane is on its way out.

Netflix announced today that the drama would conclude with a "supersized" second season split into two parts. Part 1, debuting December 2, will include 9 episodes, while the 7-episode Part 2 will premiere in 2023.

The series, based on the novel of the same name by Kristin Hannah, stars Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke as unlikely BFFs Tully and Kate, two women whose 30-year bond endures ups, downs, and everything in between over decades of friendship. Season 2 will once again depict their relationship during different eras, and explore the current, broken state of their union and the drama in their respective lives.

In addition to Heigl and Chalke, Firefly Lane stars Ben Lawson, Beau Garrett, Ali Skovbye, Roan Curtis, and Yael Yurman. This season, India de Beaufort, Greg Germann, Jolene Purdy, and Ignacio Serricchio will join in new roles.

Firefly Lane Season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
