Brennan Lee Mulligan was recently trending, and the reason is his surprise announcement.
For those unaware, the comedian/actor garnered online attention after he confirmed in a viral video that he is leaving Dropout to pursue his dream of making American Girl doll shoes. The two-minute-long video was a part of Game Changer Season 7 Episode 8, “Fool’s Gold,” that satirizes Shark Tank. Brennan Lee Mulligan’s “Why I Left Dropout” video was a pitch from Vic Michaelis, according to Mashable.
The Game Changer team even made a dedicated website, brennansamericangirldollshoes.com, for their skit, where Mulligan is seen crafting doll shoes. On top of that, viewers searching “Brennan Lee Mulligan” on Google can encounter emojis of shoes and a blue heart emoji, along with the following message:
“Good Luck with your next venture. We support you every step of the way.”

As a part of a bit on Game Changer, the Dimension 20 creator/host announced the end of his professional relationship with the streaming service. Mulligan starts the “Why I Left Dropout” video, by stating,
“Hey gang. So this is the hardest video I’ve ever had to make. Effective immediately, I will no longer be with Dropout.tv.”
Mulligan shared that there’s no “bad blood” or “drama” between him and the people at Dropout. The comedian continued explaining his decision to leave,
“You may be thinking to yourself, why Brennan? Why? You deserve to know why. As of today, I have dedicated myself to the craft and profession of making custom shoes for American Girl Dolls.”
Brennan Lee Mulligan went on to passionately talk about crafting the custom American Girl doll shoes as he continued talking,
“Dance shoes, cowboy boots, galoshes, brogues, wingtips, spats. You name a shoe, I’ll show you an American Girl Doll shoe—that’s the type of shoe that is the shoe you said. Kit Melody, Joesfina. Have you seen what they’re working with? Dog sh*t bro. Shoes are a**. Not historically accurate, disproportional, plastic seam on the bottom.”
The comedian drew parallels between his decision and Daniel Day-Lewis’ retirement. He claimed that the There Will Be Blood actor “left Hollywood to make shoes.” He also jokingly called the three-time Oscar winner “a tremendously overrated actor.” Mulligan claimed that he will craft smaller shoes and that he is “better than him.”
Mulligan remained committed to the bit and added,
“Look, I love and will always love my Dropout family, but sometimes your heart sings a song so loud that your soul can’t not hear it. I promised myself I would cry, and it’s just not happening.”
He asked the viewers to visit “brennansamericangirldollshoes.com” and concluded his skit by saying, “Izzy [Isabella Roland] wants to know where I am.” For those unaware, Roland is Mulligan’s wife and a fellow actor.
