Australian Reporter Pulls Out His Own Tooth Live On-Air

"Ever the trooper, I shall forge on," he proclaimed.
  • Australian entertainment reporter Craig Bennett pulled out his own tooth live on air this week, while discussing the biggest pop culture stories of the day.

During a live hit on Tuesday morning, Bennett suddenly stopped his report, saying, "Hang on, I think my tooth is about to fall out."

Studio 10 Hosts Sarah Harris and Tristan MacManus looked on in shock. "Craigie! Craigie, are you okay? What did you do? Did you bite into something?" asked Harris.

Bennett then reached into his mouth, pulled out the loose tooth, and displayed it for the camera as his co-hosts began to laugh.

"I can't believe it!" said Bennett.

    "We've lost a tooth people!" announced Harris. "It's 8:33, and we've lost a tooth."

"Change the headlines," MacManus chimed in.

Laughing, Bennett responded, "It's not something you see on telly everyday, is it? Somebody — now I'm whistling as I speak."

Just before Bennet tried unsuccessfully to pop the tooth back in, Harris told him, "You look like an adorable chimney sweep."

After taking a break from his report to wrap the tooth up in a tissue and make an appointment with his dentist, Bennett returned. "Ever the trooper, I shall forge on," he proclaimed.

    Ever the trooper, indeed!
