Stephen Colbert calls Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky his "new comedy idol"

"I’ve got a new comedy idol. And my new comedy idol is Volodymyr Zelensky,” Colbert said of the comedian and actor who now serves as Ukrain's president amid Russia's invasion. “And my new comedy idol is Volodymyr Zelensky.” Colbert went on to explain he’s “normally against electing comedians to political office, and keep in mind I ran for president twice. But this guy is inspiring the world with his courage in the face of the Russian invasion.” ALSO: Colbert jokes about selling out James Corden to Vladimir Putin.
