Netflix lost $39 million after cutting ties with Kevin Spacey

Amidst record-breaking fourth quarter earnings, the streaming service says it took an “unexpected" charge "for unreleased content we've decided not to move forward with.” Netflix had to find a way to proceed with House of Cards without Spacey in wake of his sexual misconduct scandal after shooting two episodes with him. Spacey’s planned Gore Vidal biopic was also scrapped.
