NBC's Today scolds Bill Clinton for making "false allegations" in his interview with Stephen Colbert

Today released the full uncut 22-minute interview Craig Melvin conducted with the former president following Clinton's Tuesday interview on The Late Show. Melvin said this morning that Clinton “appeared to suggest NBC News took his words out of context.” Clinton said to Colbert, “What surprised me was the flat-out assertion that I’d never apologized. That’s what I got mad about, not being asked about it.” To which Melvin responded this morning, "In fact the exchange began with the question: ‘Did you ever apologize to her?’" Savannah Guthrie agreed with Melvin, saying: “You did not assert he never apologized, you asked whether he had apologized.”
