Julianne Hough responds to The Activist backlash: "I am deeply listening with an open heart and mind"

Hough brought up her 2013 blackface incident in responding to the controversy over her CBS' activist reality competition, which she's co-hosting with Usher and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. “I heard you say that there was hypocrisy in the show because at the root of activism is a fight against capitalism and the trauma that it causes so many people and that the show itself felt like a shiny capitalistic endeavor,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement.
