The Valley episode titled “The Cruise From Hell”, which aired on July 8, 2025, took a serious turn during what was meant to be a celebratory boat ride for Kristen Doute’s engagement. Tensions escalated when Janet Caperna accused Danny Booko of misconduct involving Jasmine Goode and Melissa Carelli during a past event.
While speaking with Kristen, Janet said:
“I said out loud, ‘Yes, he sexually assaulted Jasmine and Michelle.’”
This statement prompted Kristen to walk away and inform Danny and Nia Sanchez about what Janet had said. In a confessional, Nia responded:
“Honestly, it’s absolutely terrible, and I don’t think anyone should be using those words unless it’s the person involved.”
Danny also responded by saying he had already taken responsibility for his actions and felt it was unfair for the topic to be repeatedly brought up. The group’s previous conversations had already brought this issue to the surface in earlier episodes, including Jason Caperna’s account of a night when Danny was reportedly drunk and made inappropriate contact with Jasmine and Melissa. The incident led to an earlier apology from Danny.
The conversation between Janet and Kristen started as a chance to resolve their issues, but shifted when Danny Booko's name came up. Janet said that Danny did misbehave with Jasmine and Michelle. Her words upset Kristen, who ended the conversation and informed Danny and Nia about what had been said.
Kristen, in a confessional, expressed frustration and said:
“How dare she say those words about Danny. She’s crossed a f***ing line.”
She believed the statement was defamatory and accused Janet of trying to ruin someone’s life without reason. In response, Janet said that she stood by her words and understood the legal definition of the term because her husband is a lawyer. She claimed that what Danny did fit that definition and that she wasn’t trying to hurt anyone but felt the need to speak up.
Nia disagreed, stating that Janet wasn’t there when it happened and that she should not use such terms on behalf of others. The disagreement left the group divided in The Valley, with emotions running high over whether Janet’s comments were appropriate or not.
Earlier in the season, Jason Caperna talked about a night when Danny was very drunk and acted in a way that made others uncomfortable. He said Danny put his hand on Jasmine’s thigh and told her, “Get daddy a drink,” referring to himself. Jason also said Danny later grabbed Melissa’s butt.
In a previous episode of The Valley, which aired on April 29, 2025, Danny had already apologised to Jasmine and Melissa. Jasmine told him, “You were inappropriate with me and her,” and said the situation felt strange. Danny replied that it was not like him to behave that way and said he was sorry.
In the July 8 episode of The Valley, Danny shared that he had already said sorry and didn’t think it was fair to keep bringing it up. He felt like he had taken responsibility and wanted to move on. Later in the episode, Janet said she used the word “sexual assault” because of what the actions meant legally. She told Danny and Nia that she was sorry she had to say it that way. Still, her words had already caused tension in the group and left people feeling divided.
