The narrative follows a young couple, Isaac and Iris, who go away to a cabin for a weekend. When Iris refers to Isaac as her boyfriend while in bed, Isaac surprises her by saying that he is not ready for a relationship. This leads to her keeping him tied up and trying her best to explain why they should be together. One of the ways she adopts it a magic potion to trigger his memory loss. Isaac acts as though it has worked on him, although it actually does not.
Pretending he has forgotten about the events of the last few hours, Isaac makes a desperate attempt to get away from Iris and her friends, whom she has called over to help her with her plan. Bolting with his car, he crashes it nearby and sets up a conversation with his jilted lover.

The film has a runtime of 95 minutes, and is moderately liked by critics and audiences alike. On the film and television rating website Rotten Tomatoes, Oh, Hi! has been certified 61% ‘fresh,’ while the audience score stands at 69%.

Iris' attempts to change Isaac's mind in Oh, Hi!

In response to Isaac's admission while being handcuffed to the bed that he doesn't consider their four-month romance to be at par with a relationship, Iris refuses to uncuff him and starts a 12-hour marathon aimed at persuading him otherwise. She tries to change Isaac's hesitancy and win his commitment by cooking, practicing heartfelt monologues, and even researching online love tricks. She calls over her friend Max in her desperation, and tries witchcraft elixir to erase Isaac’s memory.

Isaac's emotional distance endures in spite of her increasingly desperate attempts. Iris shares intimate details about her upbringing and expectations, while Isaac stays distant and quietly makes fun of the circumstance while preparing an escape. Isaac eventually pretends that the potion Iris and Max makes has been effective before running away during breakfast the next day and crashing his car. They ultimately have an open discussion about their misaligned emotions and mismatched objectives after Iris discovers him hurt in a valley.

In the end, Iris' desperate attempts to persuade Isaac to change his mind result in mutual confession rather than the romance she had hoped for. Even though her actions are extreme, they are presented as more raw vulnerability and less villainy, exploring how miscommunication and emotional distance may spin out of control when desire does not match.

What is the status of Isaac and Iris at the end of Oh, Hi!?

Oh, Hi! concludes with Iris and Isaac coming to a bittersweet conclusion following painful introspection. After he crashes his car during his attempted escape, Isaac is found hurt in a distant valley. When Iris discovers him, paramedics show up. Iris admits her extreme behavior and the misunderstanding that has led to their crisis, while Isaac apologizes for his lack of emotional availability and explains that he doesn't believe in lasting love because of past trauma.

Even though their relationship ends, the movie finishes with both characters feeling regret and empathy for one another. Their separation is a complex period of maturation and taking responsibility rather than a smoldering split or a tidy reconciliation.

Iris stands alone as Isaac leaves in the ambulance. She looks after him with a smile that is bittersweet, both as an acknowledgment of closure and hopeful reflection. The film's conclusion emphasizes its central idea: even though not everyone is destined to be together, the trip can still have purpose.
