“We’re not really talking” — 90 Day Fiancé star Colt opens up about life post-split with Vanessa

90 Day Fiancé star Colt Johnson gave an update about where things stand with his estranged wife, Vanessa Guerra, during an appearance at the 90 Days: Hunt For Love party hosted by Us Weekly on May 19, 2025. When asked about their current relationship, Colt shared that they are no longer in contact.

“We’re divorced or working on it, but yeah, we’re not really talking. We’re not communicating. It makes me sad, but things happen I guess,” he shared.

Colt and Vanessa’s relationship was first shown on season 5 of 90 Day: Happily Ever After?, when Colt was in a relationship with Jess Caroline but stayed close friends with Vanessa.

In the tell-all episode, Colt admitted that he had been romantically involved with Vanessa while still dating Jess.

Now returning to reality TV as part of 90 Days: Hunt For Love, Colt is hoping to move forward from past drama and explore new possibilities in love.

He joins several former cast members in Tulum, Mexico, where they’ll meet new people and navigate dating in a fresh environment.

At the 90 Days: Hunt For Love party in New York City, Colt explained that he joined the new series to move on from his past relationship.

He described himself as recently divorced and ready to try something new.

“I really just wanted to try something new and just put myself out there. I’m feeling pretty good. Got some new glasses. I feel pretty good,” he said.

90 Day Fiancé star Colt said that not talking to Vanessa made him feel sad, but he’s trying to focus on what’s next.

He didn’t share many details about his time on the show but mentioned that his mom, Debra Johnson, supports his choice to be part of it.

“She always wants me to put myself out there, try new things,” he said.

The upcoming season features eight singles from the 90 Day universe looking for love in Tulum.

Colt will be joined by other familiar faces from the franchise, including Cortney Reardanz, Chantel Everett, Tim Malcolm, Jennifer Tarazona, Usman Umar, Tiffany Franco, and Rob Warne.

Each of them will be meeting new people, forming connections, and sharing their dating experiences in the upcoming episodes.

Surprise cast appearances and Colt’s reaction to them

90 Day Fiancé star Colt also talked about a few cast members that caught him off guard during filming.

“I would say Cortney [Reardanz] because I never met her before, but I saw her before,” he said.

Another surprising appearance was Chantel Everett. Colt said her look had changed a lot since he last saw her.

“She looked different. I haven’t seen her. I saw her years ago, so, yeah.”

Although he didn’t reveal details about how his journey continues, 90 Day Fiancé star Colt hinted that there were unexpected moments throughout the experience.

The series brings together alums and new singles for a dating experiment in Tulum, where relationships can grow under one roof.

The cast also includes fan-favorite personalities from different 90 Day 90 Day Fiancé spin-offs. Tim, Jennifer, and Usman were part of Before the 90 Days, while Tiffany was on The Other Way and Rob appeared on The Last Resort.

In the new show, they get a chance to meet new people, go on dates, attend group events, and talk about their past relationships.
