Who played Callie Rogers on The Young and the Restless? Meet the actress behind the character

Callie Rogers was a short-lived but memorable character on The Young and the Restless, known for her connection to Malcolm Winters and her entanglement in a romantic triangle. Introduced in 1998, the role was originally played by Michelle Thomas, who is also known for her roles on The Cosby Show and Family Matters. She left the show later that year due to health issues.

Thomas was a part of only 38 episodes, as her time on the show was cut short due to her untimely death in December 1998 at 30 years old. Following her passing, the role of Callie was recast with Siena Goines, who continued portraying the character until 2000.

Goines, a former model, began her acting career in the late 1990s and brought a more assertive energy to the character. After The Young and the Restless, she appeared in a variety of television shows, including Judging Amy, Passions, and Jericho.

Goines has also had supporting roles in films such as Flight of the Phoenix and later appeared in The CW’s All American. Her performance as Callie helped carry forward the storyline while giving the character a new dynamic.

In an interview with Trainwreck'd Society on January 23, 2019, Goines shared her experience of filming the show,

“I took over a role from another wonderful actress who was ill, who was the original Callie Rodgers on Y&R. I remember I had back shows to make up totaling 46 pages in one day. I remember thinking: Did I repeat myself? Did I just say the paragraph from that other scene? Soap stories moved at a snails pace, how to make the same moment new after a month of repeating it became a challenge for me. Just tell him you’re pregnant already!!”

She added,

“With that said I was no longer a fit for daytime Soaps. But how grateful I am as the medium taught me I could cry on queue to perfection and how to study, study, study, my lines 🙂 to the point it becomes so real, I’m honored with a NAACP AWARD.”

Who was Callie Rogers on The Young and the Restless?

Callie Rogers joined The Young and the Restless as an aspiring singer who was reintroduced into Malcolm Winters’ life in 1998. Her arrival reignited a past romance that had ended years earlier due to interference from her father. Their attempt to reconnect was complicated by Callie’s troubled marriage to Trey Stark. He was her husband and music manager who refused to let her go.

Despite these challenges, Callie insisted she still loved Malcolm and wanted to end things with Trey. After she finally left Trey, and as Malcolm finalized his divorce from Olivia Winters, Callie and Malcolm officially reunited and became engaged. Malcolm even moved in with her. However, their happiness was short-lived.

They discovered that Callie was still legally married to Trey. Malcolm pressured her to get a divorce, while Trey continued to resist letting her go. Callie's continuous indecision stretched the relationship too far. In 2000, Malcolm ended it, not being able to take the situation anymore. After the breakup, Callie departed from Genoa City.
