Building the Band returned with its latest set of episodes on July 16, 2025, taking the competition beyond the sound booths and into live performances. The show, hosted by AJ McLean and judged by Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland and Liam Payne, follows solo singers as they form music groups without seeing each other.

After weeks of blind chats and strategic decisions, six bands are now officially formed, and five of them have advanced to the next round. In episodes 5 to 7, the focus shifted to vocal coaching, choreography, and working as a team. Each band performed in front of a live audience, aiming to impress the judges and earn votes to move forward.

At the end of Episode 7, two bands—Siren Society and Midnight ’Til Morning—were left in the bottom two, waiting for the judges to decide who stays. The episodes highlighted not just vocal skills but also chemistry, dedication, and stage presence as each group fought for their spot in the competition.

SZN 4, Soulidified, and 3Quency move ahead with strong performances in Building the Band

SZN 4, made up of Donzell, Aaliyah, Cameron, and Katie, was the first band to lock in. Nicole called them “the perfect ingredients” after hearing them perform together for the first time. As they practiced into the night,

“We’re not gonna go to bed until it’s perfect,” Aaliyah told the group.

Their preparation paid off, and they advanced after connecting with the live audience in Building the Band. Soulidified, the boy band formed by Landon, Malik, Shade, and Bradley, focused on blending their R&B styles. Malik said he wanted to “let creative chemistry lead the way,” while Liam praised their stage presence during “Sure Thing,” saying,

“You’re the first group that came out and actually owned the space.”

3Quency — Nori, Wennely, and Brianna — formed a trio built on friendship and shared vision. They performed SZA’s “Kill Bill” and Muni Long’s “Made for Me.” Nicole told them, “This is what Building the Band is all about,” appreciating how they listened to each other onstage. With solid teamwork and consistent vocals, 3Quency secured their spot in the next round.

All three groups showed growth since the booth phase of Building the Band. Their ability to rehearse together, align on musical choices, and perform as a unit helped them stand out in front of the judges and the audience.

Other bands face challenges as Sweet Seduction advances and bottom two are revealed in Building the Band

Sweet Seduction — made up of Alison, Elise, and Haley — had a rocky start. Nicole noticed their mismatched outfits at rehearsal and told them,

“It kind of looks like three different bands.”

Alison, who had called herself the frontwoman earlier, worked on team balance. After rehearsing as a group, they performed “I Want It That Way” in front of AJ McLean and followed up with “Emotions” by Mariah Carey. Their vocals impressed the judges, helping them move forward.

Midnight ’Til Morning’s performance included strong vocals, but their journey was affected by Conor’s lack of connection with solo singer Alison. Conor missed rehearsal time, which caused tension within the group. After a group talk, they performed “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls, but the results placed them in the bottom two.

Siren Society — Jenna, Autumn, Noriella, and Erica — gave high-energy performances with “Love Yourself” and “Don’t Cha.” However, despite their choreography and harmonies, they didn’t receive enough votes to be safe. Jenna had earlier said,

“When I think girl band, it would be a picture of us.”

With both Siren Society and Midnight ’Til Morning in danger, the judges are left to decide which band will continue in the competition. The next episodes will reveal who stays and who goes home.
