Building the Band Season 1 concluded on Netflix on July 23, 2025, with 3Quency taking home the $500,000 prize. Formed through blind auditions and shared musical connection, the trio: Nori Moore, Brianna Mazzola, and Wennely Quezada, were announced as the winners after a strong final performance.

The music competition, hosted by Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland, and Liam Payne, began with 50 solo singers. They were brought together to form six new bands, all while living and training under the same roof.

The show followed their journey from being solo singers to becoming full groups. Each team had to learn how to sing together, build a group image, and perform as one.

In the finale, emotions were high. Nori said she “blacked out on stage” after the win, while Wennely shared that she fell to the floor in shock. Brianna said the win was not just for them but also for their families and the people in their hometowns.

Now that the first season of Building the Band is over, the six bands: 3Quency, SZN4, Iconyx, Midnight Til Morning, Sweet Seduction, and Siren Society, are each taking different paths. Some are staying together and working on music, while others are moving forward with their solo goals.

After winning Building the Band, 3Quency’s members reflected on their growth throughout the season. Nori shared that she took a gap year from school and joined the show without telling her family, hoping to “better [herself]” and take a leap of faith. Brianna called the victory a “huge opportunity” and said their next steps would be about reinvention. The group plans to use their winnings to support their families and invest in their music career.

Wennely described the group’s formation as guided by “intuition,” while Nori called her bandmates “sisters.” Their bond was strengthened when all three of their mothers attended the finale, making the win even more meaningful.

    Nori said,

“Being able to experience that moment with the women who brought us here and molded us was the best part”

Brianna added that they want to inspire future artists:

“There are going to be little girls out there who are going to look at us and be like, ‘I want to do what 3Quency did.’”

The trio has since been working on new music and promises fresh visuals, wardrobe, and vocals. “What’s coming next for us is definitely nothing regular,” Brianna noted, emphasizing their drive to reinvent and evolve their sound.

Other bands reflect in Building the Band finale and future directions

While 3Quency won the competition, the other five groups have also continued their musical journeys after their appearance on Building the Band. SZN4—made up of Donzell, Aaliyah, Cameron, and Katie—finished as runners-up and described the experience as “cosmic.”

Aaliyah said the loss gave them “fuel” to keep pushing, while Cameron reflected on how the group helped him embrace his identity.

Despite living in different states, they continue to create music together. Iconyx, previously known as Soulidified, has also stayed united post-show. Malik, who had been on American Idol and The Voice, called Building the Band his best experience.

Landon said they “won in [his] mind” because of their teamwork. The group renamed themselves Iconyx to symbolize an “unbreakable bond,” comparing themselves to the Avengers. They’re working on solo projects but plan to regroup for performances and studio sessions.

Meanwhile, Midnight Til Morning’s members overcame early hesitation to form a strong bond. Although Conor briefly stepped away due to his connection with Alison, the group reconciled and is now preparing to release a full album. Conor shared,

“We want songs that people are going to use at their weddings and their birthdays and their funerals.”

    Stay tuned for more updates.
