Bethenny Frankel, the American media personality known for appearing in the Real Housewives of New York City, shared why she and her 14-year-old daughter, Bryn, moved to Florida. Frankel uploaded a TikTok video explaining her decision on Friday (May 2).
The 54-year-old stated that on March 19, she decided to finally move to Florida after planning for five weeks. Frankel said her New York City property was "drowning her," as it was big. She said she bought it at a different stage of life, thinking she would find the home entertaining.
"It was a massive property, and I made the decision to buy that property when I was in a different stage of my life. I thought it would be this, like, big family home, and that I’d be entertaining there a lot. The house was drowning me because it had an apple orchard, it was a historical house, it had all this property, and it was beautiful and amazing for a big family with kids and grandparents," Frankel stated.
For the unversed, Bethenny Frankel was married to Jason Hoppy, a pharmaceutical sales representative, from 2010 to 2021, and they had one daughter, Bryn Casey Hoppy.
In the TikTok video, Frankel said she initially wanted to wait for her daughter to go to college before shifting. However, something happened in their lives that caused them to move to Florida. Although the internet personality did not reveal the incident, she said the house was too big for her and her daughter.
On April 18, the Real Housewives of New York City star uploaded an Instagram video, announcing to her followers that she and her daughter, Bryn, are moving and their Florida home will be their primary residence. She did not state why at the time and said they were moving because of "personal and professional reasons."
"I am moving to Florida for personal and professional reasons. Something has arisen that made this the best and healthiest for myself and my daughter [Bryn]. We will maintain residences in the Hamptons and New York City because we love New York," Frankel said in the video.
According to US Weekly's report dated April 17, Bethenny Frankel shared the struggles she faced during her eight-year-long divorce proceedings in the April 11 episode of her podcast, Just B with Bethenny Frankel.
According to the media outlet, the 54-year-old star filed for divorce in 2013 after three years of marriage to Jason Hoppy. The divorce was finalized in January 2021.
In her podcast, Frankel called the eight years "traumatizing." She also said that the lengthy divorce proceedings gave her trust issues and PTSD.
"I've been burned. I have massive trust issues, and I have post-traumatic stress disorder. It was literally the most traumatizing thing I will hopefully ever go through in my life. I thought I would never survive it. I did not see a way out. It was suffocating. I thought I was gonna be miserable for the rest of my life," Frankel said.
Along with The Real Housewives of New York City, Bethenny Frankel appeared in shows including The Big Shot with Bethenny, The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, Million Dollar Listing New York, and Bethenny and Fredrik.
