Nineteen years after the iconic duo of Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep took to the big screen for the comedy-drama masterpiece that is The Devil Wears Prada, they have returned for a sequel. Yes, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is coming!
In an Instagram post by Anne Hathaway on Sunday in collaboration with 20th Century Studios captioned “Andy Sachs 2025 #dwp2,” she is seen sporting a pinstripe co-ord set with black boots. Fans everywhere are abuzz with questions about Andy's new appearance without her signature bangs with most users in the comments stating that they can’t wait for this long-awaited continuation of her and Miranda’s tumultuous relationship.
When is The Devil Wears Prada 2 coming out?
In an Instagram post by 20th Century Studios earlier this month, it was confirmed that filming had begun at the end of June this year and the sequel is expected to make its cinema debut in May 2026.
David Frankel returns as director for The Devil Wears Prada 2 while Aline Brosh McKenna continues to write the screenplay.
Who’s returning for the sequel?
Joining Hathaway in reprising their original roles will be Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. Joining the cast for this sequel will be Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora.

The first installment of The Devil Wears Prada which premiered in 2006 was an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger. It made its debut at the LA Film Festival in June of 2006, followed by its theatrical release on June 30 that same year.
The movie received critical acclaim, earning it a rating of 7 on IMDb and 75% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Streep won a Golden Globe Award for her performance as Miranda Priestly and was even nominated for an Academy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award for the same. It also became a box-office hit grossing $326 million worldwide.
