Willow Trailer Teases a Battle Between Good and Evil

The sequel series to the 1988 film premieres on Disney+ this November.
  • Disney+ has released the teaser trailer for Willow, a new series from Lucasfilm and Imagine Entertainment. Willow serves as a sequel to the 1988 fantasy film of the same name, which followed the character of Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis), an aspiring magician who goes on a quest to protect a baby prophesied to overthrow an evil queen.

The series is described as an “epic period fantasy series with a modern sensibility, set in an enchanted land of breathtaking beauty.” Willow will follow the same characters as the original film as they go on new adventures and combat new challenges.

Davis will reprise his role in the sequel alongside newcomers Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, and Ellie Bamber.

Disney released the trailer at their Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim, California on Thursday. In attendance were Davis, creator Jonathan Kasdan, original film director Ron Howard, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, and some of the new cast.

“It’s a dream to return to this character,” Davis said onstage, according to Variety. “Making this movie was one of the best experiences of my life.”

Willow premieres November 30 on Disney+.
