With South Park making headlines again with its season 27 premiere featuring a controversial portrayal of Donald Trump, fans have also shown interest in co-creator Trey Parker’s private life. The 55-year-old controversial satirist has kept his relationship status rather private over the years.

Parker had married Boogie Tillmon after having a daughter, Betty, in 2014. But according to TMZ, in 2019 he had filed for divorce, listing a separation date in 2019.

Nonetheless, the two have since seemed to have reconciled on their shared Instagram account, @thesouthparkers, documenting family adventures, and private time as recently as summer 2025.

According to Distractify, the pair’s posts, from skiing excursions to jaunts around the world in Japan and San Francisco, indicate they’ve either reconciled or maintained a tight co-parenting situation. Parker’s reps have not responded as to whether they’re still married, which has fans speculating.

Trey Parker was previously married to Emma Sugiyama, from 2006 to 2008, and got divorced due to mid-life crisis, according to Vice.

A look into Trey Parker and Matt Stone's controversy involving Donald Trump

Trey Parker and South Park co-creator Matt Stone recently made headlines at San Diego Comic-Con for expressing their clash with Comedy Central over the depiction of Donald Trump in the new season premier.

The backlash received was due to the fact that the episode portrayed the President’s genitalia as an actual, animated character with eyes.

"They were like, ‘We’re gonna blur the p**is,’ and we’re like, ‘No, you’re not gonna blur the p**is,'" Parker said.

In one scene, a Saddam Hussein-esque naked Trump stalks around the White House, boasting a minuscule genitalia. The storyline has Cartman grappling with the “woke is dead" culture, and PC Principal becoming Christian and bringing Jesus into the school. Satan appears as Trump’s bedmate, and Jesus tells critics they face the threat of cancellation, in a reference to Paramount’s $16M settlement with Trump (Forbes).

The episode ends with a surreal PSA featuring an AI Trump nude in the desert. The White House blasted the show as "uninspired," and slammed liberals for praising the show over its offensive.

"Just like the creators of South Park, the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows. This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention," White House Assistant Press Secretary Taylor Rogers said in a statement.

With South Park recently being renewed till 2027, fans and the general public are eager to witness more of such controversial takes on politics and comedy.
