Peacock is reviving iconic 1994 film Reality Bites as a TV series. The original dramedy stars Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke, and Ben Stiller as best friends graduating from college and embracing adulthood in the '90s. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peacock's take will follow the same premise, reframing the story for a modern audience.

Screenwriter Helen Childress, who wrote the original film when she was in her early 20s, will return to write the new TV script. Childress, Jenna Bans, Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher, Danny DeVito, and Casey Kyber will executive procuce. Shamberg, Sher, and DeVito also produced the original film.

NBCUniversal previously tried to create a Reality Bites series in 2013 with Stiller and Childress, THR reports, but plans fell through. Though he directed the 1994 film, Stiller is not currently involved with the Peacock production.
