On Thursday morning, Newsmax anchor Rob Finnerty made it clear that the far-right network would not be airing the January 6 House committee's primetime hearing. However, hours after his show, Wake Up America, aired, the far-right network reversed course, revealing on its website that it actually would be covering the historic proceedings.

During his Thursday broadcast, Finnerty said the airing of "sham partisan hearings" on major networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN is "proof that the media is in the bag for the Democrats and the Biden administration." He then mumbled under his breath, "You won't be able to see it on Newsmax."

Despite Finnerty's remark, Newsmax has decided to air Thursday's hearing, saying it will do so "without the spin." The right-wing network added in a statement, "This is an important news event and the reason Newsmax will carry it live, but it will also be important for us to make sure the public is aware of any and all partisan bias that results from the hearing."

Newsmax's announcement comes after Fox News declared it would not be airing the hearing in primetime, instead opting to have live coverage on its less-watched channel, Fox Business Network, and have primetime hosts provide coverage "as news warrants."

The January 6 hearing air Thursday, June 9 at 8:00 PM ET on NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, Newsmax, and Fox Business Network.
