Ethan Hawke Is OK With Gen Z Calling Him 'The Moon Knight Guy'

Ethan Hawke has gained a whole new generation of fans after his role as the villainous Arthur Harrow in Moon Knight. However, those fans only know him as "the Moon Knight guy," as they've labeled him on Twitter and TikTok.

"Well, that's who I am to them, and that's the fun of acting,” Hawke told Yahoo! Entertainment. "For years you're the prep school kid from Dead Poets Society, then you're the cop from Training Day. Then you're the Gen-X'er from Reality Bites. Now I'm the Moon Knight guy."

On top of that, many fans are just now learning that Stranger Things star Maya Hawke, who plays Robin, is also Ethan Hawke's daughter. As one Twitter user put it, "Omg robins dad is the guy from moon knight."

"It's kind of fun for Maya and I both to be working in such a mainstream milieu that I haven't spent a lot of time in," Hawke said of his daughter's newfound fame.

All in all, Hawke doesn't seem bothered that a new generation of viewers knows him only as "the Moon Knight guy."

"The Moon Knight guy signing off," he said, saluting the camera just as the interview ended.
