CNN plans to experiment with Chris Cuomo's former 9pm time slot before naming a new permanent host. According to a recording verified by The New York Times, the new chairman of CNN, Chris Licht, told employees during a town hall meeting that he plans to "try some things" with the crucial time slot before launching a new show in the fall.

“Let’s try some things at 9 o’clock,” the chairman said. “Let’s have some fun with it. Let’s just try some things. But my intention is to have a show ready to launch in the fall at 9 o’clock.”

The network's former top-rated anchor Chris Cuomo was fired last year after it was revealed that he had helped his brother, former Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo, manage sexual misconduct allegations.
