Torres’ ideas for sketches have been so “weird and wonderful” that he was the subject of  a New York Times profile last year during his first season on Saturday Night Live. Yet his “weird work has been very scarce this season,” as Joanna Robinson points out, noting that the Portman “cut for time” sketch came from Torres.
