The Wrap reports the group behind the Golden Globes declined to hold press conferences for three Black-led projects: Bridgerton, Girls Trip and Queen & Slim. The Wrap's story prompted Shonda Rhimes to reveal that the HFPA rejected press conferences for her shows -- Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder -- until they were each a "surprise hit." "And yet they STILL asked me to show up in person to present at the Globes," Rhimes tweeted. "We're not the only ones. This is why HFPA's house is on fire. They lit the flame w/their own ignorance. And I'm the lucky one. More important: think of all the great talent and shows out there that never even got a chance." Ava DuVernay also reacted, tweeting that few HFPA members showed up to the organization's When They See Us press conference.
