Report: Eddie Murphy in talks with Netflix to return to standup comedy for $70 million

It's been decades since Murphy performed standup comedy, so his return price would have to be astronomical. The $70 million figure from TMZ puts Murphy in line with Dave Chappelle, who was paid $60 million for three standup specials. The 58-year-old Murphy discussed a potential return to standup with Jerry Seinfeld on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. "You know that you not doing stand-up drives people crazy. You know that, right?" Seinfeld told Murphy. "I'm going to do it again. Everything just has to be right," Murphy responded "You have to get up there and start working out."
