Paramount+ hopes 36 original shows in its first year, 30,000 TV episodes and 2,500 films will make it competitive in the overcrowded streaming world

The ViacomCBS streaming service is betting $5 billion that the Paramount name carries the same weight as Disney and HBO when Paramount+ launches on March 4. "This is not your father's Viacom. This is not my father's either," ViacomCBS chairman Shari Redstone said to start Wednesday's three-hour presentation unveiling a slew of exclusive Paramount+ shows. Redstone was evoking he memory of her late father, Sumner Redstone, whose legacy looms large over the company.
