Netflix orders One Piece live-action series based on the manga classic

Eiichiro Oda's wildly popular Japanese manga series, which debuted in 1997, is getting a Netflix TV adaptation. The 10-episode One Piece "follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew as they explore a fantastical world of endless oceans and exotic islands in search of the world’s ultimate treasure known as 'One Piece' to become the next Pirate King," per Deadline. One Piece will be written by Steven Maeda.
