Mads Mikkelsen says he and Hugh Dancy almost kissed in the Hannibal series finale

“We actually did a couple of takes of the very last scene where we were looking at each other, and it was a little too obvious — it was almost a kiss,” Mikkelsen said in a Vulture interview, reflecting on his entire career. “Me and Hugh were like, ‘Why not? We have a couple of takes. Let’s do one. It might be cool.'" Mikkelsen said he was one of four actors considered for the Bryan Fuller series, but he was reluctant to sign on due to the casting process. "But we did a couple of scenes, me and Hugh Dancy, and I think we had a great chemistry in that awkward way it was supposed to be," he said.
