Stephenson's dystopian novel is named after the TV static snow-like gibberish that appeared on his screen when his Macintosh would crash. 21 Jump Street movie writer Michael Bacall will adapt the book about a “Hiro Protagonist, who in reality delivers pizza for Uncle Enzo’s CosoNostra Pizza Inc., but in the Metaverse he’s a warrior prince.
