Bebe Rexha has responded to Azealia Banks' bodyshaming comments. On Monday (May 5), Banks went on X (formerly known as Twitter) and criticized the singer-songwriter's Christian Siriano ensemble at the 2025 Met Gala. Rexha wore a black coat and tulle skirt at the event.
On May 6, Bebe Rexha stated in a now-deleted tweet that she's tired of hearing people's opinions on her weight gain. She also revealed that, along with suffering from PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), she struggled with infertility and a pregnancy loss.
"I'm tired of people commenting on my weight. I have PCOS and struggle with infertility. I got pregnant, and it didn't work out and I've been carrying that pain in silence. I never owed anyone that truth, but maybe now you'll think twice before commenting on anyone's body," the singer wrote.
In another tweet on May 6, Rexha urged Azealia Banks to start taking therapy, saying Lexapro, a brand of antidepressant medication, helped her.
"And you might wanna jump on some type of therapy, sis, lexapro worked great for me. something that helps with the deep rooted sadness and chaos you keep projecting. Healing looks good on everyone. Try it," Bebe Rexha wrote.

According to People's report dated May 5, 2023, the singer-songwriter appeared on American television personality Gayle King's SiriusXM show Gayle King in the House in May 2023, and revealed that she had been diagnosed with PCOS.
"I just found out recently I have PCOS, polycystic ovary syndrome, and a lot of women have it. A lot of women who have it don’t know. It causes facial hair, acne around the chin, weight gain. It makes it hard to get pregnant... A lot of women don’t know they have it because it takes a certain type of doctor and certain tests," Rexha stated.
She told King that she had been struggling with food issues for years. The singer shared an incident from 2013, when she got her first record deal from Warner Bros. Records. Rexha claimed she was allegedly pushed to fit into the music industry's beauty standards and was reportedly told to get liposuction.
"I've been struggling with food for forever. I remember starting out and getting my first record deal, and they said to me, 'Are you ready to get into bootcamp shape? You need to lose 20 pounds to do this career.' I was 127 pounds at the time, and I had people around me telling me to get lipo," She said.
According to Page Six's report dated August 1, 2023, Keyan Safyari, the filmmaker and producer, allegedly slammed the singer for gaining 35 pounds. Rexha then released the text on her Instagram stories in July 2023.
The media outlet reported that Bebe Rexha broke up with Safyari the same month and announced the news during her London concert.
Bebe Rexha last appeared in the English band Faithless's single Dollars and Dimes, which was released on April 25, 2025.
