The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 is the latest installment of the American coming-of-age romantic drama series written and created by Jenny Han, based on her own eponymous trilogy of novels. The narrative follows adolescent girl Belly Conklin, who negotiates friendship, family, and love across several summers that she spends with brothers Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher at Cousins Beach.
The show explores the emotional upheaval that accompanies growth and personal development. Season 1 of The Summer I Turned Pretty has seven episodes and debuted on June 17, 2022, followed by eight-episode season 2 on July 14, 2023. The third and final season premiered on July 16, 2025, and consists of 11 episodes.
New episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty, Season 3, will be released in the United States on Prime Video weekly on Wednesdays at 12 a.m. PT and 3 a.m. ET till mid-September. To follow up with the show, viewers can sign up for the all-access Amazon Prime tier, or subscribe to Prime Video for $14.99 per month or $139 per year. The Prime Young Adults plan, which costs $7.49 per month after a six-month free trial, is eligible for younger subscribers.
Two episodes of Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty, which debuted on Prime Video on July 16, begin with Belly (Lola Tung) and her lover, Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno), wrapping up another semester at Finch College. As Belly finishes her junior year of college, the events of the season take place in a four-year time leap. Although the location where shots are filmed is real, Finch College is not. Author Jenny Han's own university, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, inspired the creation of Finch College.
Chapel Hill, a small town in the center of the state, is part of North Carolina's thriving Research Triangle, which also includes Durham's Duke University and Raleigh's North Carolina State University. The show has so far included images from all over UNC's campus, including the quad, academic buildings like Pettigrew Hall, and Franklin Street, the town's main street.
The fictional Cousins Beach has a strong connection to Wilmington and the surrounding area, just like in prior seasons. After delays due to strikes and the epidemic, filming around the primary locales started in early 2025. The beach scenes, which featured high drama bonfires, summer parties, and sun-drenched moments along the sea, were shot at Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Wrightsville Beach. Due to municipal constraints elsewhere, beach parts with fake snow were filmed at Fort Fisher State Recreation Area.
The Fisher family's beach house, which is the focal point of season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty, has always resided on the remote Porters Neck Plantation. Set against a verdant golf course, this cedar-shake exterior embodies the East Coast seaside beauty that Jenny Han had in mind.
Although the outside scenes were filmed on location in different locations around the South Carolina coast, the homes used for all of the intricate interior shots were constructed on soundstages at the Screen Gems Studio, which is located just outside Wilmington.
Jenny Han's romantic narrative promises that Belly and Jeremiah will travel to Europe. Throughout October 2024, filming went on all throughout Paris, including travel montages and realistic street scenes.
Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty is available only on Amazon Prime Video. It is available to American viewers through a Prime Video standalone membership, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year and includes all Prime Originals and more. There is also a Prime Young Adults plan for those aged 18 to 24 that offers six months free, followed by $7.49/month, and new users are eligible for a 30-day free trial. The first two episodes will be released at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET, and then every week until September 17, 2025.
