Filipino actress Rufa Mae Quinto has announced that her estranged husband, Trevor Magallanes, has passed away in his US home. She has not disclosed the reason behind his death or any other details.
Rufa Mae Quinto and Magallanes got married in 2016, and confirmed that they were separating in December 2024. The two did not disclose the reason behind their separation.
On Thursday (July 31, 2025), Quinto posted pictures with Trevor and their daughter Athena, and shared that there are many details they don't know. She said that they are gathering "factual information," and requested people to wait for updates.
Rufa Mae Quinto also asked people not to spread any fake news surrounding Trevor Magallanes' death. She asked for privacy and told followers to wait for the official announcement, and not to believe information from other sources.
"Even us or his immediate family are still verifying what happened. So we kindly ask his friends or anyone to stop spreading fake news or mere speculations about his death. I am flying tomorrow for the US with my daughter, so pls wait for the official announcement surrounding his death from me & his family only and not fr any other source," the actress wrote.

On December 14, 2024, Trevor Magallanes addressed the rumor on Instagram stories. Calling their marriage a "sh*t show," he stated that they were in the process of divorce.
"Hey guys, I felt like I [need] to explain myself based on social media and all that. I want to make myself clear that Rufa Mae and I are in the process of a divorce. You may be aware divorce can be very devastating to the children and also the parents. That being said, my marriage has been a sh*t show, and I am sorry for that," Trevor Magallanes said.
In May 2025, Rufa Mae Quinto appeared on the show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda and stated that they tried to work on their marriage. However, she realized that they were better off apart.
The actress said that the separation badly affected their daughter, and she was "depressed." Rufa Mae consoled Athena, saying that her father can not "be replaced," and he would always be her "daddy." Quinto then shared that she told her daughter to let Trevor have "space" and wait for better days.
"Of course Athena has been through something too, she's been depressed and everything, but I always say that tomorrow is another day... That's your dad, he can't be replaced, right? That's your daddy for life. So if he's not available right now or he wants to rest or get some space, that's okay. Let's just wait," the actress said.
Rufa Mae Quinto and Trevor Magallanes were separated. However, they were still in a legal marriage. While Athena stayed with her mother, Trevor lived in the US.
The details of his passing are unclear. Rufa Mae Quinto has asked for privacy while she and her family mourn for Trevor and investigate his death.
