Tab Virgil Jr., also known as Turk, the founding member of the American hip-hop group Hot Boys, has spoken about leaving Cash Money's reunion show due to payment disputes. He also pointed to the alleged retaliation by promoters of the show.
In a YouTube clip, with his wife and manager, Erica "Emani" Virgil, by his side, he said that he has been left out of many upcoming shows on the Cash Money 30th Birthday Tour, in places like Cleveland, Chicago, and Detroit. Virgil also revealed that the people in charge didn't pay the artists their due for a Nashville show that got canceled.
In the same video, Turk's wife, Emani Virgil, said that the show promoters, Dope Shows, tried to pay him less than what was agreed, and as a consequence, Turk rejected the offer. Shortly after, he received a termination letter citing him as a "security risk," a label Virgil sees as a strike back.
Turk claims that the dismissal was not due to safety concerns, but as a result of his standing firm on his contract terms. Turk wrote in the video's caption:
"The same day, after I refused to take less money than what the agency and promoters of the Cash Money 30th Anniversary Tour owed me, instead of saying they didn't have enough money to pay me, I received a last-minute termination notice saying I was a 'security risk.'"
As of now, Cash Money Records has remained silent on the matter.
