    Murray Goldberg is no more.

Ahead of The Goldbergs' Season 10 premiere, showrunner Alex Barnow has confirmed that Jeff Garlin's character will already be dead when the season begins. Garlin's exit from the show comes following multiple complaints of inappropriate conduct on set. The comedian previously gave an interview to Vanity Fair's Maureen Ryan, during which he admitted to "silliness" on set, behavior Ryan called a pattern of "verbal and physical conduct on set that made people uncomfortable".

A human resources investigation evidently led to Garlin's departure from the show, which was announced at the end of last year. "This is going to be a family that has not reconciled the fact that their father’s gone but has sort of moved on and has dealt with a lot of that," Barnow told Entertainment Weekly. Co-showrunner Chris Bishop added that the shift in the show's story "feels like a huge reboot for us" and that they have "tons of momentum rolling into this new season."

The Goldbergs returns to ABC for Season 10 on September 21 8:30/7:30c.
