As previously mentioned, Robert De Niro had been on the MSNBC panel on Sunday and made many comments against President Trump. At one point in time, De Niro called the president an "alien" who did not have empathy for anybody and wanted to "hurt this country." He said,
"It's something deeply psychological in him. He wants to hurt people; he wants to hurt this country... I don't understand the people in his cabinet... how they can live with themselves after what they’ve allowed him to do."
He further questioned the people who had voted for Donald Trump and even accused them of "kissing his a**." The actor further spoke about the recent "No Kings" protests and praised the members of the party for raising their voices against President Trump. Robert De Niro continued,
"I like Hakeem Jeffries. I like… Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, they're all great, strong. I like what Letitia James is doing. She's fighting back. She's saying, 'f*ck you!'"
The aforementioned "No Kings" protests were promoted by De Niro previously through an Instagram post. In the video, the actor could be seen criticizing Trump and further urging people to stand up against him. According to reports by Fox News, about 2,000 protests were planned all across the country, including in cities like Washington, D.C., Portland, and Atlanta.
Robert De Niro stated that he was "very happy" seeing how the protests happened over the weekend. During the MSNBC rant, the star did not just criticize Trump but his administration too. He made a reference to White House aide Stephen Miller and called him a "Nazi."
Further in the conversation, De Niro shared his belief that he thinks Donald Trump will not be ready to leave the office even after his tenure is over.
According to reports by NPR, organizers claimed that the turnout at the recent protests was much bigger than the ones that happened in June 2025.
