Cassie Ventura made her first court appearance in the trial against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs on May 13. The trial, related to the federal lawsuit against Combs, which involves allegations of racketeering and s*x-trafficking made against the music mogul began a day before Ventura took the stand.
Ventura is a primary witness for the prosecution in Combs’ case. In November 2023, Ventura had filed a lawsuit against Combs in which she alleged that the music executive physically, s*xually and psychologically ab*sed her over a period of several years. Among various allegations she made against Combs, Ventura, who had been in a relationship with Combs for more than a decade, accused him of coercing her to participate in dr*g propelled s*xual acts with male pr*stitutes, which Combs allegedly called ‘Freak offs.’
As per Ventura, the coercive dr*g propelled s*xual acts took place several times over the years. In her testimony, which ran over several days throughout the week, Ventura specified why she participated in the ‘freak offs’ despite finding them traumatic.
Cassie Ventura, in her testimony to court this week, alleged that Combs would tape the s*xual acts that she was coerced to perform with male pr*stitutes during her dr*g infused state. As per BBC, Venura said that Combs would threaten her that he would release her taped videos from the ‘freak offs’ if she refused to participate in them.
Ventura also recalled an incident that took place while they were in an airplane. As per Ventura’s testimony, Combs played one of the taped videos during a commercial flight in the presence of other passengers. The alleged incident took place after Ventura and Combs had an argument, reported BBC.
In order to detail the level of alleged control that Combs had over Ventura, the 38-year-old musician, who is at present 8 months pregnant, shared a disturbing incident with the jury that took place during her 29th birthday party. People Magazine reported that according to Ventura’s testimony, Combs made her leave her birthday party so she could attend one of his ‘freak offs.’ As per People Magazine, Ventura said in court,
“He kept pulling me away from my friends. I eventually left. I just wanted to celebrate my birthday. But we went and had a Freak Off”
Cassie Ventura also alleged in court that Combs went beyond blackmail in order to control her, and as per Ventura’s testimony, there was the looming threat of violence against her. Recalling a period in 2011 when she attempted to break out of her ab*sive relationship with Combs and briefly dated rapper Kid Cudi, Ventura alleged during her testimony that Combs threatened them both with repercussions, reported Fox News.

Ventura’s lawsuit also mentioned that Combs threatened to blow up Kid Cudi’s car, as per Fox News. The news outlet notes that Ventura’s lawsuit noted that Cudi’s car was indeed involved in an explosion while parked in the driveway around the same time.
Ventura detailed the coercive nature of the ‘freak offs’ during her testimony to the jury. Participating in coercive s*xual acts while under the influence of dr*gs and alcohol had an emotional and psychological impact on her, alleged Ventura. According to her, Combs’ ‘freak offs’ went on for days, and allegedly amounted to a job that she was psychologically bound to do. Sky News reported on Ventura’s court testimony, where she said,
“Freak offs became a job where there was no space to do anything else but to recover and just try to feel normal again”
As per BBC, Ventura revealed that she would have traumatic flashbacks about the ab*sive experiences, and shared that the trauma led her to ponder self-harm a couple of years ago. As per Ventura, she sought help after the incident and attended therapy.
As per Sky News, Cassie Ventura maintained her composure during the period of the testimony which stretched over several days. The news outlet also noted that while she generally displayed calmness, she broke down while recalling disturbing details from alleged experiences that lasted for more than a decade.
Sky News reported that Ventura shared her reason behind reliving traumatic ordeals, and said that she wanted to speak out and take a stand. While responding to the judge in court, Ventura said,
“I can't carry the shame, the guilt, the way he treated people like they were disposable. What's right is right, what's wrong is wrong. I came here to do the right thing.”
After Cassie Ventura filed her lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, several other people who alleged to have undergone similar experiences of s*xual abuse filed lawsuits against Combs.
