Who's that guy? It's Bruce Willis!

On Monday's episode of New Girl rewatch podcast Welcome to Our Show, Zooey Deschanel, Lamorne Morris, and Hannah Simone revealed that Bruce Willis almost appeared on the show in the Season 1 episode "The Landlord."

According to the stars, the creators of New Girl wanted Willis to play Remy the landlord, a role that ultimately went to Jeff Kober, who appeared in three episodes in Seasons 1 and 2.

During the podcast episode, Simone read a text from Season 1 writer Josh Malmuth about casting the Die Hard star. Malmuth wrote that Willis' "people said he 'wanted to do the show,' and we waited and waited and never heard anything," further speculating, "I'm sure no one ever told him about it."

Simone then told listeners that Willis "was in, apparently," and the creators of the show waited as long as they could before filming was scheduled to begin, even shifting some of the shooting days to accommodate Willis' schedule. But then, unsure of herself, Simone said, "Or maybe he never knew and never agreed, and this whole thing is a New Girl mythology."

All episodes of New Girl are currently streaming on Netflix.
