ABC's breakout comedy Abbott Elementary is expanding its reach by streaming on both Hulu and HBO Max.

The streamers have agreed to share "co-exclusive rights" to Quinta Brunson's Emmy-nominated comedy, which is produced by Warner Bros. Television and 20th Television. The 13-episode first season is slated to debut August 20 on HBO Max. Season 1 is already available to stream in its entirety on Hulu.

As part of an existing agreement, Hulu will continue to stream episodes of Abbott Elementary the day after they air on ABC (both Hulu and ABC are owned by Disney). New episodes and prior seasons will remain on Hulu, and complete future seasons will arrive on HBO Max before the next season premieres on broadcast.

The news comes just a few weeks after Abbott Elementary was nominated for seven Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting nominations for Brunson (Lead Actress), Sheryl Lee Ralph, Janelle James, and Tyler James Williams (Supporting Actress and Actor). Brunson also earned an Emmy nod for Outstanding Writing for the pilot episode.

Filmed in a mockumentary style, Abbott Elementary follows a group of dedicated teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — at an underfunded public school in Philadelphia as they work to help their students succeed in life. The comedy has been widely praised, with Primetimer's Joe Reid hailing it "the best thing on network TV."

Abbott Elementary Season 2 premieres Wednesday, September 21 on ABC.
