Netflix is expanding its natural history offerings.
The streamer announced today that it had ordered six new nature docuseries set to premiere over the next few years following the success of series like Our Great National Parks and Our Planet. Our Universe, narrated by Morgan Freeman, will kick things off at the end of November. "Blending stunning wildlife footage with eye-popping cosmic special effects", the six-part series "takes viewers on a fascinating adventure to explore the connections that drive our natural world."
The series will be followed by Our Planet II in 2023, with David Attenborough returning to lend his iconic voice. Freeman will also narrate Life on Our Planet, coming in 2023. "Helmed by visionary producers and voiced by iconic narrators, these new stories are sure to enthrall and entertain viewers of all ages," wrote Adam Del Deo, VP Documentary Series at Netflix.
Other series in the works include Our Oceans and Our Living World, coming in 2024, and Our Water World from the executive producer of Blue Planet II, coming in 2025.
Our Universe premieres on Netflix November 22.
