Vanessa Bayer to star in Showtime comedy pilot Big Deal

The Saturday Night Live alum co-created the potential comedy series with former SNL writer Jeremy Beiler. In Big Deal, she'll play a woman who "overcomes childhood leukemia to achieve her lifelong dream of becoming an on-air host at a home shopping network." Big Deal is inspired by Bayer's own history as a survivor of childhood leukemia while a freshman in high school. The Big Sick director Michael Showalter has been attached to direct.
