The next Bachelor has been reportedly revealed: Clayton Echard has yet to make his debut on The Bachelorette

Clayton Echard, who describes himself as a "washed-up athlete now trying his luck in orthopaedic sales," won't become familiar to Bachelor Nation until he competes on Michelle Young's Bachelorette season, premiering Oct. 19. Like Colton Underwood, Echard tried and failed to make it on an NFL team after playing college football at Missouri. But Variety is reporting that Echard is the next Bachelor. E! News, without naming Echard but offering his initials, obtained photos of him with a camera crew in Missouri shooting what appeared to be a promo shoot for his Bachelor season. Echard's reported casting is another change of pace for The Bachelor franchise, which has often selected leads who are already familiar to Bachelor Nation. UPDATE: The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss tweeted: "Major Announcement!!! Your new #TheBachelor is a great guy from Michelle’s season of #TheBachelorette . Can’t wait for you to meet him!"
