TV composer for The Neighborhood and Black Lightning recalls being homeless in Hollywood

Kurt Farquhar has composed music for TV shows for 30 years, working on everything from The King of Queens to Moesha. But when he arrived in Los Angeles in 1989, he found himself sleeping near Melrose Avenue. Farquhar spoke to LAist about his journey, while standing near a billboard for The Neighborhood on Melrose near where he used to sleep.
