Star Trek: Discovery renewed for Season 3, adds a new co-showrunner

The Season 3 pickup comes six episodes into the Star Trek series' second season on CBS All Access. For Season 3, Star Trek: Discovery is promoting co-executive producer and writer Michelle Paradise to serve as co-showrunner alongside Alex Kurtzman, who is also busy overseeing the entire CBS All Access Star Trek universe. “Michelle joined us midway through season two and energized the room with her ferocious knowledge of Trek,” said Kurtzman. “Her grasp of character and story detail, her drive and her focus have already become essential in ensuring the ‘Trek’ legacy, and her fresh perspective always keeps us looking forward. I’m proud to say Michelle and I are officially running Star Trek: Discovery together.”
