Smash cast reveals that the original Showtime version contained a lot of nudity

 “I don’t know if anybody else knows this,” Katharine McPhee said during a Q&A reunion session that was part of the livestreaming of Bombshell in Concert for the first time. “The original script I read had a lot of nudity. Do you remember that?” Smash, known as The Untitled Theresa Rebek Project before it moved to NBC, "was definitely a cable show," adds Debra Messing. “I remember reading it and thinking this might be the best pilot script I’ve ever read."
