SNL cast members obliquely respond to Shane Gillis' firing

"Hahahahahahahaha," responded new cast member Bowen Yang. "Lollll" tweeted Ego Nwodim in her response to Redd's tweet. SNL writer Julio Torres also responded, tweeting: "*polishes nails*" Meanwhile, "Weekend Update's" Michael Che used his Instagram Stories to apparently slam the people who were ranting about SNL. "boy i tell ya, for a show that nobody cares about, people sure do care about it," wrote Che, who is SNL's co-head writer. On Sunday, Che slammed Seth Simons, the comedy journalist who uncovered Gillis' racist jokes, on his Instagram Stories. "i honestly dont know what youre talking about," Che responded when asked about how Simons "snitched" on Gillis. "but also, nothing would surprise me about that kid. hes obsessed with us. someone showed me his phone has a (Colin) jost screensaver. lol what a f*cking weirdo."
