Reality TV producer recounts discovering The Masked Singer while dining at a Thai restaurant

Veteran reality producer Craig Plestis was having dinner with his 20-something daughter at a Studio City Thai restaurant when they both couldn't take their eyes off the TV screen. What was on screen was the Thai version of the South Korean hit reality show. "I was mesmerized," says Plestis. "I sat there and quickly (researched) the show’s premise, who owns it and called up my agent — literally right there in the restaurant — and said ‘I want to get this. There’s magic here.’"
